Decree of the Head of the Russian Imperial House, H.I.H. Grand Duke Wladimir Kirillovich, on the Birth of His Most August Daughter, H.I.H. Grand Duchess Maria Wladimirovna, 10/23 December 1953.

On 10/23 December 1953, Our Beloved Wife, Her Imperial Highness Grand Duchess Leonida Georgievna, safely gave birth in Madrid to Our Daughter, Whom We have named Maria.

Considering this addition to Our Imperial House to be a new manifestation of God’s Grace sent to Us as a consolation, We remain entirely convinced that all true Russian people will, along with Us, offer their fervent prayers to the Most High for the happy growth and well-being of the Newborn. We command that This, Our Beloved Daughter, the Newborn Grand Duchess, should in all appropriate cases be written of and addressed with the style Her Imperial Highness.

The present decree is to be published subsequently as a Manifesto by the usual means to the Governing Senate.
