2023-08-20 An Investiture Ceremony on the Day of Commemoration of Tsaritsa Anastasia Romanovna in the Church of St. Nicholas in Moscow in Tolmachi

On August 20 (August 7 according to the Juliana Calendar) 2023, on the day when Tsaritsa Anastasia Romanovna is commemorated, the Church of St. Nicholas in Tolmachi, part of the State Tretyakov Gallery, hosted a ceremony for the presentation of awards from the Head of the Imperial House of Russia to those who have rendered exemplary service to the nation and have made extraordinary achievements in their professional fields.

After a thanksgiving prayer service (moleben) and commemorative service (litia) for Tsaritsa Anastasia Romanovna—which were served by the rector of the church, Archpriest Nikolai Sokolov—the head of the Department of International and Interregional Relations of the Chancellery of the Head of the Russian Imperial House, Prince V. O. Lopukhin, and the King of Arms and head of the Department of Heraldry in Chancellery of the Head of the Russian Imperial House, S. V. Dumin, presented on behalf of H.I.H. The Grand Duchess Maria of Russia the patents and insignia of the Imperial Order of the Holy Great-Martyr Anastasia the Alleviatrix of Captives to the newly-appointed dames of the Order, and also presented to several others present personal letters from the Head of the Russian Imperial House expressing her gratitude to those who have distinguished themselves in the fields of art, science, education, and philanthropy.

 

The ceremony took place before the holy and ancient Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God.

 

A banquet followed the services and ceremony.
