The Head of the House of Romanoff establishes the Commemorative Medal of the “Anniversary of the Nation’s Victory, 1613-2013”

as an award for our countrymen who have distinguished themselves in service of various kinds, and for foreigners who have actively displayed their love and respect for our great Fatherland, establish a commemorative medal “Anniversary of the Nation’s Victory, 1613-2013,” in honour of the 400th anniversary of the end of the Time of Troubles and the reestablishment of the Russian State, and affirm the Statutes for the awarding and wearing of the medal.

“Anniversary of the Nation’s Victory, 1613-2013”

The Commemorative medal “Anniversary of the Nation’s Victory, 1613-2013,” has been instituted by the Head of the Russian Imperial House, H.I.H. Grand Duchess Maria of Russia in Madrid on February 21/March 5, 2012.

1.The right to wear the Commemorative medal “Anniversary of the Nation’s Victory, 1613-2013,” is based on documentary evidence of eligibility; and is awarded to the citizens of all presently independent countries that once were part of the Russian Empire, to citizens of the Russian Federation regardless of the country in which they reside, and to foreigners who have shown love and respect for Russian culture.

2.On the obverse of the Commemorative medal “Anniversary of the Nation’s Victory, 1613-2013” is depicted the ceremony where it was announced to Mikhail Feodorovich Romanoff that he and his House had been given the throne by the Assembly of the Land of 1613, restoring the Russian State after the Time of Troubles. Below this image appears the inscription: “Anniversary of the Nation’s Victory, 1613-2013.” On the reverse, there is the following inscription: “The 400th Anniversary of the Ending of the Time of Troubles and the Reestablishment of the Russian State, 1613-2013,” written in five lines of text. Above the text appears the crowned monogram of the Head of the Russian Imperial House, H.I.H. Grand Duchess Maria of Russia. The diameter of the medal is 32 millimeters. The ribbon is the Romanoff colors (white, yellow, and black). The bearer of the medal has the right to inscribe on the reverse the number of the award, which appears on the diploma issued by the Grand Duchess.

3.The Commemorative medal “Anniversary of the Nation’s Victory, 1613-2013” is worn on the left breast.

4.To obtain the right to wear the Commemorative medal “Anniversary of the Nation’s Victory, 1613-2013,” applicants must send to H.I.H.’s Chancellery by mail a completed Information Form with attached documents describing the applicant’s service (documents affirming service, documents certifying awards and promotions, publications in the media, and so on).

5.The right to wear the medal “Anniversary of the Nation’s Victory, 1613-2013” is confirmed by a diploma issued by H.I.H.’s Chancellery. On the basis of the diploma, the awardee has the right to purchase or order the commemorative medal following the description of the medal formulated in these Statutes.
