Grief and anguish have filled me on learning of this new terrible atrocity—the terrorist bombing of a passenger bus in Volgograd.

A crime such as this can have absolutely no justification. The brutal killing of innocent people is a manifestation of an inhumane hatred and is an affront to God Himself.

I and my son and heir, Grand Duke George of Russia, express our most profound condolences to the families and friends of those who perished, and we pray for the speedy recovery of those who were injured.
