The Head of the House of Romanoff Sends Birthday Greetings to Metropolitan Vikentii of Tashkent and Central Asia

From the Head of the Russian Imperial House

To His Eminence Metropolitan Vikentii of Tashkent and Central Asia

Your Eminence,

I send you my heartfelt congratulations on your 60th birthday. Having chosen in your youth to serve the Holy Church, which in those years was persecuted, you have gone through many trials and labors and have made a great contribution to the preaching of Orthodoxy and the preservation of traditional Russian moral values. For 12 years you were the archpastor in the Ekaterinburg eparchy, preserving and adorning the holy places connected with the martyrdoms of the Holy Royal Passion-Bearers. Now, the pastoral care of the flock in Central Asia has been entrusted to you. In all your endeavors, you perform your duty with firm faith, piety, and wisdom. With all my heart, I wish you health, many years, and the abundance of God’s blessings in your activities and undertakings.

Greatly valuing your service to the Russian Orthodox Church and to the Fatherland, I am conveying to you with this letter the insignia of the Imperial Order of St. Anna First Class, into which you were invested on the 400th anniversary of the restoration of the Russian State by the Assembly of the Land in 1613, as well as the Imperial Medals “Anniversary of the Nation’s Victory” and “Commemorative Medal of the 400th Anniversary of the House of Romanoff,” with the accompanying certificates affirming your right to wear them.

Asking your archpastoral prayers and blessing for me and my son and heir, Grand Duke George of Russia, I remain ever faithfully yours,

H.I.H. Grand Duchess Maria of Russia
