Greetings From the Head of the Russian Imperial House, H.I.H. Grand Duchess Maria Wladimirovna, To All Those Who Helped to Produce the Book 871 Days by Elena (Ninel’) Koribskaia (née Kuftyreva)

I send my warm greetings to the esteemed author, the publishers, and to the readers of the book 871 Days.

So striking in its truthfulness and honest straight-forwardness, this story of the horrific and tragic, and at the same time great and heroic days of the Siege of Leningrad, is an invaluable historical source—a textbook for life for a new generation of citizens of Russia.

These memoirs of a gallant and generous woman, who preserved all these many years her childhood memories of the heroic feats of our people during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945, will forever remain proof of the power of Faith, Hope, and Love—the main virtues that lie at the base of the Russian spirit.

From all my heart, I wish Elena Koribskaia, her family and friends, and all those who took part in the publication of these memoirs, health, many years of life, and God’s help in the service of Russia.
